In fact, the cultural heritage of the city of Lucca is strongly connected to music, as it is the birthplace of numerous composers, such as Giacomo Puccini, Alfredo Catalani, and Luigi Boccherini.
Go on a musical adventure and discover their lives, their works, and the places they have marked with their presence.
Day 1
Your musical journey starts with a lovely stroll in Lucca, discovering all the major artists who have left a mark in the city, creating unique memories and testimonies. Musical excerpts of the artists’ most significant and known compositions will accompany you on your walk. In addition to getting to know the history and the beauties of Lucca, become acquainted with the musicians, hear anecdotes about their lives and the places connected to them. Among these places, the Puccini Museum – Casa Natale, the museum which retraces paths of the great composer, its personality, its passions, and its genius.
In the late afternoon, ride your bike at sunset along the Puccini cycle path, which winds around the most significant places in the composer’s life, from the wood to Celle Puccini, where his family house was, to Lucca’s historical centre, particularly in Corte San Lorenzo, where the Maestro was born.

Day 2
Visit one of the most majestic historical villas built between the 15th and 19th century by Lucca’s noble families, and its wonderful garden. Access the two theatres located inside the garden of the Villa, particularly the oldest theatre in Europe, where world-famous violinist Niccolò Paganini performed for Elisa Baciocchi, Napoleon’s sister.
Lunch can be chosen at will.
In the afternoon, follow your guide to discover the outstanding medieval town of Montecarlo and walk along the small town alleys that lead to the medieval walls. Visit the world-famous Teatro dei Rassicurati, Italy’s smallest “teatro dell’opera”, characterized by fine decorations of eclectic style. Giacomo Puccini usually attended the theatre when he visited his sister who was working as a governess with a family in the area. In this place filled with history, a surprise awaits you.
Dinner will be served at a local restaurant, where a tasting menu based on local products will be offered.
Day 3
The last day of tour focuses on Lucca’s historical centre, with a visit to the Luigi Boccherini music Institute, one of Italy’s oldest music schools (1842), and Teatro del Giglio, a true artistic and cultural landmark for the city of Lucca, which hosted on its stage world-class artists from the world of music and culture.
The itinerary ends with a music-themed lunch to delight your taste buds, tasting Giacomo Puccini’s favourite dishes.
