Day 1
At your arrival in Montecarlo, you will be welcomed in a relaxing agritourism, characterized by a breath-taking view of the town’s vineyards. For the best start of your stay, enjoy the wellness centre of the structure and its wide range of services, from an indoors jacuzzi, a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath with chromotherapy, and a relax area.
After that, discover the majestic medieval town of Montecarlo, renowned for its production of excellent D.O.C. wines and the highly-prized D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil. In fact, the town located on the world-famous Wine and Olive Oil Road of Lucca, on the ruins of the ancient Vivinaia. Through a guided tour, walk on the town’s alleys and head to the outstanding city walls that surround the historical centre. Discover the famous Cerruglio Fortress, built in the Middle Ages and set on the highest point of Montecarlo’s hill. Then, visit the Teatro dei Rassicurati, Italy’s smallest “teatro dell’opera”, characterized by fine decorations of eclectic style. After the visits, enjoy a welcome aperitif in one of the local restaurants of the town, based on delicious wines produced in the area accompanied by local specialties.
In the evening, dinner will be served at the agritourism, where you can taste several local dishes of the Lucchesia.
Day 2
In the morning, in Lucca, follow the tour for a full-immersion sensory experience in the heart of the city. While mesmerized by the architectural beauties of this artistic city, abandon yourself to the fragrant scent of freshly-baked specialties and other local desserts of the area. Entice your taste buds with a tasting of the best local products and the harmonic wines of the hills of Lucca. Visit the small traditional shops of the city: bakeries, pastry shops, delicatessens, and wine shops. Your palate will thank you.

Day 3
Enjoy the free morning.
In the afternoon, visit the city of Altopascio, historical crosspoint for pilgrims traveling along the Via Francigena. Discover its tradition of assistance carried out under the auspices of the Order of the Knights of the Tau. Altopascio is also renowned as the city of bread, due to a particular baking process that sees the use of “sconcia”, the local mother dough, that the town has maintained over the centuries. After visiting the town, discover the traditional bread-production process through a workshop with a local artisan: you can make and taste your own bread. The day ends with a convivial apericena (aperitif and dinner) at a local restaurant.
Day 4
On the fourth and last day of your trip in the mouth of Piana di Lucca, visit one of the majestic historical villas built between the 15th and 19th century by Lucca’s noble families, and discover its wonderful garden. To top it all off, enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch served in the garden of the villa, so that you can relieve a tasty memory of your trip to Lucca.
